Second Wind · Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, NC

Third-generation Hatteras waterman running light-tackle and nearshore trips out of Oregon Inlet. I grew up on this water and I fish it 200 days a year — sight-casting red drum on the flats in the fall, cobia and spanish off the beach in summer, and false albacore at the point when the bait pushes through. Small groups only, quality tackle provided, and I clean your catch at the dock. If the weather turns, I'd rather reschedule you than take your money for a rough ride.

Licence check not on file yet

Best day on the water we've had. Captain Mike put us on fish all morning and cleaned our catch at the dock. My son hasn't stopped talking about it.

Third trip with Mike and he still finds fish nobody else is on. Boat is immaculate, tackle is better than anything I own.

Great day, tough conditions. Mike worked hard for every bite and was straight with us about the forecast. Would book again.

  • ★★★★★Marcus Okafor

Booked the flats trip as a total beginner and he had me casting to tailing reds by 10am. Patient, funny, genuinely good teacher.

Worth every penny. We saw dolphins on the way back and he let the kids drive the boat. Unreal sunset.

  • ★★★★★The Hollis Family

Cancelled a trip last year over weather and he rebooked us without a fuss. That's why we keep coming back.

Solid half day, we limited out on speckled trout. Only reason it's not five stars is we wanted more time.
